Here is the Atollo table lamp, by the great Milanese designer Vico Magistretti (1920-2006).
Made for O-Luce in 1977, according to Claudia Neumann it has a “perfect geometrical structure” that represents “a real masterpiece of composition: an apparently weightless hemisphere, hanging in the balance, suspended on a cylinder; both the shaft and the lampshade light up (from “Design Italia”, Rizzoli, Milan 1999).
